The Purbeck Mineral and Mining Museum
The Purbeck Mineral and Mining Museum (PMMM) is dedicated to the history of Purbeck Ball Clay mining, the industrial heritage of Purbeck and the Purbeck narrow gauge railways.
The museum is now closed for the winter and will reopen on Friday 23rd March 2018
The Museum and underground mine will be open on the following days during 2018 from 11am to 5pm (last entry 4:30pm):
- March – Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th and Saturday 31st March
- April – Saturday and Sundays only
- May to September – Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays
- October – Saturday and Sundays only
Additionally to the above we will also be open on the following Bank Holidays during 2018:
Good Friday – 30th March
Easter Monday – 2nd April
Early May Bank Holiday – 7th May
Spring Bank Holiday – 28th May
Summer Bank Holiday – 27th August
Opening hours 11am-5pm (last entry 4.30pm).
The museum will close again for the winter on Sunday 28th October 2018.
Entry is Free, but we rely on your donations, please give at least £1 per person to enable us to keep our museum open. Please Gift Aid your donation if you can.
